Centro Internacional de Agricultura Tropical

The Centre supports the REGATTA project in strengthening capacities on adaptation issues in Latin America and the Caribbean countries, by: (i) developing assessments of vulnerability and impact of agriculture, grazing and water resources in the Andes of Colombia, Ecuador and Peru at the regional level, and (ii) disseminating the evaluation methodology and its deliverables. It is also moderator of the Andes Community of Practice.

This three institutions consortium supports REGATTA in building capacities on adaptation issues Latin America and the Caribbean countries, by: (i) contributing to the social aspects of the asessment of vulnerability and impact on agriculture, livestock and water resources at the subregional scale of Gran Chaco (Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay) and (ii) locally, in the Paraguayan Chaco with the development of a social and capability for adaptation analysis. In addition, the consortium is the moderator of the Southern Cone and Gran Chaco Community of Practice.

Latin America Energy Organization was created within the context of the international energy crisis of the early seventies, whose scope and impact was analyzed by the Latin America and the Caribbean countries, which lacked energy policies and facing the need to adequately address this crisis began a intense political mobilization process that came to an end on November 2, 1973 with the signing of the Lima Agreement, the constituent instrument of the Organization, ratified by 27 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Practical Action

Practical Action is REGATTA´s knowledge centre for Ecosystem based Adaptation (EbA) in Latin America and the Caribbean. Its overall objective is to promote EbA through an online Community of Practice. At the same time, it seeks to build capacities, exchange lessons learnt and promote successful EbA approaches in national planning processes, in order to create a wider climate change adaptation strategy in the region.
